The Hendon business site in Adelaide, South Australia has been a long-established integrated circuit design and wafer fabrication facility. From its original Philips Semiconductor background through to 2007 when it was purchased by Legend Corporation, Hendon has grown a reputation for providing innovative solutions. Whilst integrated circuit design and fabrication is a key activity, the blend of complementary technologies gives access to competitive advantage in markets where microelectronics is the technology of choice. In addition, Hendon also has Australia's only commercial thick film hybrid facility providing the perfect solution for high frequence RF, high power and ruggedized electronics. The Hendon Semiconductors manufacturing facility is extremely scalable, from a highly specialised prototyping service with dedicated project manager(s) supported by a skilled process engineering group, to large scale high volume manufacturing capability. We offer a full range of surface mount and through-hole technology, PCB and module assembly in either leaded or lead-free technologies. Hendon has recently enhanced its abilities to support both prototyping and ultra-low volume production through the addition of small-scale bare PCB production, flying probe testers, a new Xray system and automatic selective conformal coating for environmental protection. Other value-added services offered by Hendon are in the areas of design, applications engineering, prototyping, full functional testing, failure analysis and on-site environmental testing. The availability of onsite mechanical workshop assists in quick turnaround for tools, fixtures and jigs. This year's investment will enable wafer to Chip-On-Board (COB) processing of semiconductors, a clean room (optical component assembly) facility which will complete what we believe to be an industry leading range of capabilities in Australia.
