It consolidated capabilities across information warfare, cyberspace, strategic joint communications, information operations, emerging technology, and Defence Digital Group. INFOCOM develops, integrates, defends, and operates in the Defence Information Environment so that the NZDF has an information advantage. INFOCOM supports NZDF operations across information technology, electromagnetic spectrum operations, information activities, and cybersecurity. The Agency supports the NZDF by providing technical and scientific advice that’s based on good scientific practice, is independent, unbiased, transparent and timely. The technical solutions which are developed are used across the spectrum of Defence operations. We are a business unit of the NZDF, with facilities located at the Devonport Naval Base in Auckland. The Council has a wide brief to • provide national and international defence industry advice to the Minister of Defence; • encourage strategic relationships between Defence and industry; and • act as conduit between the Minister of Defence and industry on defence matters. The Council also facilitates annual Minister of Defence Awards of Excellence to industry, and is supported administratively by the Ministry of Defence. GOVERNMENT ORGANISATIONS WORKING WITH DEFENCE AND DEFENCE INDUSTRY Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) www.gets.govt.nz The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) operate GETS, a tool for government departments to advertise tenders. To comply with the New Zealand Government Rules of Sourcing GETS is used to advertise all government department tenders, above a set threshold, including those of the MOD and NZDF. GETS is also used widely by other government agencies outside the central departments. Suppliers registered on GETS can view all current Open Tenders and set their profile to receive email notifications based on their areas of interest and regions in which they operate. NZ DEFENCE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION The NZDIA is a group of businesses with a specific interest in the defence market.
